Change is Inevitable; Growth is Optional

Stop asking people to be something they are not. For most dont see it necessary to become anything more than they currently are or just adamant in their ways due to  being short-sighted and narrow-minded. The individual who says “this is the way I am and I cant change” is just expressing their limited view of life and of their own potential. I dare say ignorant. According to a friend of mine these persons should just die. Why waste time with life when they wont be contributing anymore to others nor becoming any better in improving themselves which also impacts others, for the better. While I dont condone such a harsh statement to be made to persons who are stuck in such a limited mindset. It does bluntly express a similar viewpoint that I share.

Life is all about growth. Nature expresses itself through the cycle of life via growth. Anything that stops growing dies. Fullstop. When a human stops moving physically they start dieing. A bed ridden patient that is unable to move will develop bed sores. Momentum is key to growth. Movement in life is a neccessity. If we stop learning our brains cells start deteriorating. Science has proven that the brain does not deteriorate by age. Deterioration happens when the brain is not being used. Even inanimate objects require movement. Have you ever had a good pair of shoes, almost new that youve not worn in a long time and when you dusted it off and wore it you realised it has dry rotted? My point exactly.  Movement, growth, advancement is a requirement for life.

Growing old is mandatory but maturing is optional. There are persons whom have developed bad habits and nasty attitudes during their formative years having adapted such from their immediate environment and persons of influence. However when these individuals become adults they adamantly own and defend these habits claiming them as “who they are”. What rubbish! If only they would recognise that they have the ability to change any bad habit or attitude and replace them with more empowering ones. They would automatically change to become better “versions” of themselves. One of the keys to enjoying life, building better relationships and maximizing ones potential is to grow; and to grow one must embrace change. Change should be constantly persued because we are all flawed, ignorant in many areas and improvement is an evolving process. Perfection is an illusion. It doesnt exist. Anyone who feels they have “arrived” is only fooling themselves.

Therefore it is my duty; our mandate to consistently work on ourselves to develop our God given potential and abilities. It is our gift and praise to our Creator when we maximize that which we have been given, endowed; blessed with.
